Random act of kindness can make a difference in someone’s life and oneself’s. Here I was looking for a blog post idea and here was Charles looking for a breakthrough to something that would change his life forever.
WHAT I AM WEARING

He sat down sullenly, thinking out what he was going to do. Still undecided about whether to make the journey, he continued to weigh the pros and cons in his mind. Finally, he said, let me just do it to fulfill all righteousness, even though I have prepared, I believe preparation in time past will help me. Charles woke up early the next morning, hurriedly had his bath, packed his belongings and set off for the nearest ATM.
He put in his ATM card, inputted the amount he wanted, heard the familiar whirl of the dispensing machine about to bring out money… The screen shows, “kindly take your money, transaction successful.” But no money came out of the ATM! Charles couldn’t believe and thought out loud, not today, please. That is the last money I have in my account and I am supposed to use it to travel for my aptitude test! He prayed silently and checked his account balance N472.00.
He walked off slowly and sloppily with his back pack wondering what next to do. Mentally he made a list of family and friends to call and resolved that if no one responded, it means fate didn’t want him to go for the aptitude test. As he was about placing a call to the first person on the list, he observed an unread message in his inbox… Credit Alert from Simbi, five figures in sum! Wow. He hurried back to the bank, made sure to use a different ATM, and an hour later he left to the bus terminal on his way to his aptitude test.
Unusually, the candidates were asked to wait behind after the exam, all the candidates including Charles were offered lunch and told to be patient. Some hours past Charles was called in for an interview Congratulations, you made it!
Charles was brought back from the joy of his good fortune by the loud ringing of his phone. Aaah!! Caller; “Simba.” Charles picked his phone and said hello ooo, the caller at the other end barked, “hey you, I sent you some money earlier in the day!” Little did Simbi know that her money had enabled Charles to travel to secure his first job after 5 years of leaving the university.
Thanks for reading this blog post and be kind to one another, see you next time 🙂
